The low sun filling the white trees with light. The trees build up this frost coat and snow until a warm day when they shake it off. They've had alot this year.

Thanks for the comments. Janey, when the temp drops quickly sometimes 60-70 degrees, the frost layer is like the breath of the tree frozen around each twig, encasing it. Really a lovely phenomena.

Thanks BB. I love the frosts in the trees. I've always imagined them breathing, when the emp drops it really does look like that exhalation froze solid in place. One of my favorite winter things, though I wont hope for the quick cold to come for a pic. :-)

I think of the same thing when I watch fog rolling in and out on the water here..so alive..
It stirred me to jot down my thoughts one day about fog.....
Breath of the earth
sigh of the seas
kissed by the wind
and you are gone
