i been wrapping things up all day San...i've done a blog on it...
hows your plants doing?

yes just seen your blog sandra very good ;o)), lost my plants first frost, not having a greenhouse doesnt help and my shed got to cold :o( may have saved some fuchsia but thats all im afraid, im going to be organised next year and sort my spare room out and turn the heating off in there as it gets to warm and dry, all a learning thing for me :o)

i loved Hywels pics last year of his fuchsias in the living room...

yes should have brought mine in living room to, i have a few geraniums still doing ok to so at least i have something left sandra

its difficult dawn i cant turn the radiator off in spare room and gets far to hot, shed to cold, so cant win, i will sort something out properly for next year,hope your plants are doing ok dawn :o) oops think i answered you when you were answering other sandra , lol if that makes sence hahah

Sandra i can remember Hywel doing that, made me laugh aswell, said he'd put his mum and Beryl in the shed or something, got my little plants all covered up not been in my tiny little greenhouse for a while dont wont to let the cold in so fingers crossed they are alright.

Hi Sandra (Sanbaz, lol). It is difficult, I've got plants in the cold frame and the cold frame is covered with bubble wrap - darent remove and have a look to see if everything is OK. The greenhouse has a heater on frost protection - goodness knows what the electric bill will be like.

well dawn hope yours are ok and you carol, does the heater use alot of electric dawn , hope not

Well have no heat it in but greenhouse bubble wrapped then fleece over all plants then newspaper on top of fleece, if they die there's not alot we can do, all part of gardening i think you get ups and downs, and as for me its cheaper to buy new plants than have heating on all winter.

Hi Sandra, well the heater keeps kicking in and out to keep the temp above freezing. When it comes on it takes about 1,000 watts but not on for long periods (hopefully). I didnt expect it to be freezing day and night for so long, was hoping it would just kick in at night, on Economy 7.

its been sooo cold here today....we can only keep our fingers crossed for our plants...

thats the trouble dawn its below freezing day time to so it must be kicking in most of the time to keep above :o((

Sanbaz - that's the problem - any idea when its going to start improving?

they say will be here still in the next 10 days at least, so not sure after that dawn, i goaway on 19th so im hoping all ok then, dont want airport being closed when im due to go

I was thinking it must be getting close to your hols - are you going somewhere warm. Let's hope the airports are OK for then.
