Thanks Skillen for asking about Smokey, he's about the same, he does'nt go very far at all know he's getting old but just moves to do what he as to then back on the foot stool near the radiator, or he lays right near my feet then i fall over him nearly. Hope you get your pond sorted soon.

Theres a ball on top of the pond and a plastic duck to keep water safe as air can go round side of ball, i'm not very good at explaining things.

Like your (clear) pond, what sort of filter are you using? I,ve got quite a big filter/pump but UV light broken, (can't find replacement bulb anywhere) not working to good, water a bit murky. 4 fish dead up to now, but i think that's because of cold weather.

What i use in my pond is called Easyclear from Argos it cost me £75 last year, its a all in one fountain, pump, filter & uvc. I think it was worth ever penny. They do still have them in, they make two of them but i got the cheapest of the two.

Lovely fish Clarice. I always feel so sory for mine underneath the ice. Vicki my youngest adult daughter made her dad go out to the pond saying that she could see one of the fish frozen in the ice. He tried to reassure her it wouldn't be but she insisted he went out into the cold to look. He picked up a stick which Vicki thought he was about to break the ice with but he only waved it above the ice and the fish dived down to the depths probably as scared as Vicki had been at having his slumbers diturbed!

Wow they're HUGE clarice! Very healthy looking specimens. Mine are fine but still having to fill the pond daily as the ice had damaged the pond. We've plugged up some of the holes but obviously there must be more:~(((. How's Smokey doing?
