The Bud: Neomarica gracilis

This is the bud, it worked its way, bigger and bigger all day long. I kept leaving my superbowl company to check if it was unfurling. Pretty reliably blooms next day at sunrise.

It looks like a white flame..sweet...I was rooting for the Saints to win...lol..I would still have been leaving in such a tight win! You would have had company watching for this lovely flower to unfurl...exciting!

I thought it resembled a flame too! I had to take a drive home to check on this bud. :-) I was glad the Saints won as well, and I don't watch football much.

Me either GT..not big on any televised sports..but I had to watch this one for my friends in NO.... YEEEEHAWWW!...early Mardi Gra for them....lol..I was so happy for them..how fun to be watching this bud unfurl and the Saints winning..perfect timing... :)
