SCILLA..........CAMPANULATA BLUE

I like these Holly , I have them in my grass , we have to mow round them until they have finished ........

Those are pretty...when do they flower ?

my neighbour bought me a pkt of 25 to plant in a shingle area but have had to put them intp the planters as they were growing so fast and we had all the snow,

These are members of the Bluebell Family TT , different ones flower at different times I have some Scilla Siberica which flower March/April and are only 6" high ... these ones Campanulata grow much taller height about 1ft flowering approx May . I believe this is the one that is called the Spanish Bluebell which is in danger of taking over from our well loved English bluebell.... I'm sure somebody will soon correct me if i'm wrong . :o)

Amy thanks 4 the imfo... on my plant labels it just says spring bulbs.....and my other bluebells usually flower about April.......... so will wait and see..... : O ))

Well to their investigation on tv they reckon we are going to have an early spring.

are we that would be nice wouldnt it..... i remember one year we had a lovely April and i had to get the hose out to water the garden it was so hot.. then the next year we had snow in April.... last year we must have had a good spring as all my plants came on really well.... even things that hadnt been in flower before came out..... not to long to go now is it.... pouring with rain here at the moment........

No not too long I have noticed though over the years if we have a nice April we get a horrible summer

your right there.. when we had a hot april that year the rest of the summer was rather wet......

Its some thing I have taken noticed of for the past 12 years
