They are Holly...I have been making an extra effort with feeding the garden birds this winter ...I didnt notice these little ones last year....Im delighted to see them....:>).....Thanks Muddy for the list...very interesting, some weird nouns there....I did see my 'charm'...:>)

Lovely close up you are lucky to capture them, they fly off if I get to close for a decent photo. They love nigra seed and most of all they love sunflower hearts, I have them by the score in my garden take a look, they are all gold finches on the tree at the bottom of my garden. they fly down in 8s to feed.

I wonder why that is Wagger...???...The only other food i put out recently is meal worms...trying to attract the little Robins...I shall have a look at your Goldfinches Sixp.....:>)

I think it's because their preferred habitat is scattered bushes, trees and rough ground (RSPB) and the woods here are too thick for them.
