you can tell the weather is cold on the coast when they come in the garden , they can spot you putting the food out from miles away .... even in the summer you can tell if it's rough out at sea when they come in ......

I had them in my garden when we had snow just after xmas,times are hard for them as well, and when weather is so bad there is no one on the prom feeding them.

I'm sure they do, mind you these in Blackpool should get fed abit more now at weekends as pleasure beach as started to open Saturdays and Sundays.

Gosh is that early Carole , i'm shivering at the thought of it .. I'll tell the Seagulls to go up there for a weekend treat of chips .....lol........

They always open up about middle of Feb every year dont know if they will get many going this year, last few feb's have been quite warm.Bloomer i dont go near the pleasure beach at all, use to when i was young,(them where the days). You have to pay £20 just to go in it now. Mind you think you have to pay at most pleasure parks now days.

What ever will you get next Amy - what a variety you have in your garden. They know where the good grub is.

We do have a good assortment here Dawn , they come inland when it's colder Jane , are you far from the sea ? .. .

Four miles inland Amy....but we still see them in the fields and circling overhead !

You are a lot closer than us Jane we are about 20 as the crow flies , that's why we know we are in for some rough weather when they come in .....

Hi Amy...Rays Dad is now at home and being waited on hand and foot by carers and Ray ! Lol...He is staying til the end of the week to ensure all is well.Has sorted his phones out so that his Dad can answer without having to move ! Thanks for your care....off soon now as very tired tonight...x

its the first time ive had seagulls land in my garden amy, all birds are deserate for food this winter,
glad rays dad is home jane, hope he has a speedy recovery x

It's good to hear that Rays Dad is in back in his own home Jane , and being looked after so well , Ray will be exhausted when he comes home from the mental strain of doing whats best for Dad .

Lovely action shot, we get gulls down as soon as we put bread out, it takes them some time to get down as the garden is small, so they swoop eat and off, have been trying to get a shot for ages now.

What a wing span they have feel sorry for them but do try not to encourage them as I think the little birds have it a little more difficult to find food in the winter

Jane sorry to hear Rays dad as been poorly, but pleased he is settled back in his own home now, no matter how good the care is there is no place like your own home, best wishes to you both x
