Our Thai guide was so proud of this roof - I think if she could have found a ladder she'd have had us up there taking a closer look!

Seriously though, it did look good and considering the climate it grows in (scorching hot in the day and v. cold during the night) it does really well. Pai is in the north of Thailand at quite a high altitude with the usual Monsoon season. I couldn't quite see exactly what was growing up there but it was on a sturdy roof structure.
Hmm, wonder if our shed roof would take it?.......:))

wonder if it'd work on a garden shed? course, it'd be a tad smaller ...

I've def. seen it being planted on various gardening shows - also recently seen 'vertical gardening' i.e. up walls!

true, Twiggy, have seen pic of such, at least - Googling "living walls" brings up some amazing pics.

But I think I ought to check that the structure will take the extra weight, especially if I might be inside at the time!
