They look great Sandra. I'm a gunnera fan :-) Which variety is it, do you know. I think my bottle brush has maybe died in the frosts :-( Although I have another one.
2 Mar, 2010
They look great Sandra, I`m going to treat myself to a bottle brush this year, they are stunning looking plants. :o)
PS: I must look on eBay to see what plants I can pick up! :o)
2 Mar, 2010
Hi Labdancer, its all on Ebay, I've bought seeds too.
2 Mar, 2010
sorry Terra had to make dinner then take son home, yes looking forward to planting, some plants will go into pots so i can take them in during winter i think ;o)
dawn the gunnera is manicata if you know which i mean, not sure what to do with it, either leave in a pot or ground, dont want it taking over , not alot of space ,sorry your bottle brush has died and glad you have another, i may have that in pot to,:o))
sandra ive always wanted one but they can get killed off with severe frost i understand, so will have to be carefull with it,
ebay do have some good sellers for plants and not to expensive either ;o)
dawn your right lots of seeds at the moment
2 Mar, 2010
Hi Sandra, I know Gunnera Manicata very well, its got to be one of my favourite ever plants :-) Regarding what to do with it, why not take a look at my Garden Photos - page 3, top row, 4th along. Might give you an idea of what to expect. :-)

Looks like you have been bitten by the eBay bug, I have bought several plants and have been pleased with them so far, both of your plants are fairly tender, the bottle brush, depending on which variety it is, I have a hardy one and a tender one, as long as the tender plant is in a sheltered place it will be ok, our Gunnera looks very sick at he moment, should have covered it up.....smack on the wrist for me..lol
2 Mar, 2010
thanx dotty i love looking on ebay but its taken me a while to actually buy something as wasnt sure what i would be getting , i think its quite hardy but will make sure i shelter or cover in winter just to be sure, same with gunnera which will be in a big pot eventually not in ground as i dont have the space for it to grow so big ;o) hope your gets better dotty
