I cant remember the name of this plant but the emerging leaves are lovely.

It looks like the Sorbaria Sem I bought a short time ago. Mine is still in a pot, waiting to be planted :)

You've jogged my memory everyone, thank you. Ive googled Sorbaria Sem and it is that, I know now that it came from my Mum's garden, I must be getting old, I cant even remember setting it and it was only last year.

So do I! They reminded me of Birds of Paradise for some reason. It looks quite oriental as well. I have Sorbaria Sorbifolia and I think your 'sem' is actually nicer. I shall keep a look out for this DA! It would be lovely in my Japanese corner. Does it tolerate shade?

Thanks Karen, so is mine a S Sorbifolia, we werent sure as I acquired it from my Mum's garden. Nice arent they.

Apperently it's full name is Sorbaria Sorbifolia 'Sem' !
