Look, Dawn, it is beginning to grow. This is its third attempt at growing. On both previous occasions the snow has beaten it - hopefully it's third time lucky :)

Sorry, Homebird, the title was mis-typed! It is corrected now so should make more sense :)

:) I've just checked and the proper name is Leycesteria formosa. If you put the name in the search box it should show you photos GoYers have submitted. It's a bit different and I think it's very attractive. Or you can just go to 'L' at the bottom of the page and it will lead you to it.

It is, Homebird. Dawn sent me a little plant at the end of last year so I was delighted to seeing it beginning to thrive.

I'm a bit late arriving, sorry Gee.
That's wonderful news, they are quite resilient which is good with the bad Winter we had.
Wait until it has berries - the blackbirds go crazy for them.

Don't worry, Dawn. I'm so glad it has started to grow after the false starts. I seem to have two pairs of blackbirds sharing the garden at the moment so extra food will be welcome :)

Im pleased its rallyed around too, I found another baby plant the other day which had your name on it should the original one have failed. Yours should romp away now the colder weather has gone.
