I just love Robins, Janey...especially your Robbie.. think i have a robin nesting in my Variegated Ivy.. i see her every day, back and forth, disappearing into the Ivy, coming out again...we had a family of Dunnocks, in 1 of our large
Conifers opposite my kitchen window...Mum, had 4, we peeped into the
Conifer, saw them, so very, very cute, could not disturb them so we left mum
to it...the next day, we had a visitor, a tortoise shell large pussy cat, i shoo`d
it away, felt sorry for the cat, she looked so pretty, sitting there, ignoring me
in the end, she got fed up, stuck her tail in the air, walked off in a huff..
Next day, my husband, called out to me, that part of the nest was on the patio...we thought the worst, but then again, we would rather think that
they had flown the nest....i do hope you have a nest there too Janey, fingers
crossed...: ~)))

Thanks everyone.I hope they are nesting, but then Pops and Ted would be delighted and I don't think I could bear it if they went after the babies....:o((
Oh Fp.......your Robins are in the Ivy too......I love cats but it is heartbreaking to lose the babies to them...lets hope no cats come round to yours when the Robin babies are fledging... Last year we had 2 lovely Blackbirds for days on the lawn feeding their youngster, but quick as lightning Teddy was there and grabbed it. This year he spends a lot of the day on my bed thankfully.........X

We have put out three lots of mealy worms for our robins today we suppose that they have very hungry babies somewhere, bless them.

Thats good to hear Grandmage....they love them don't they? Lets hope all the babies feed well....you know birds these days are much luckier now ....we all love feeding them, so we can catch glimpses of what they are up to. When we were children, a few cake crumbs and bread crusts was all the extra they had.....no chance of buying special food....times keep changing...:o) Next winter we are going to only buy the meal worms and nuts.....the bird seed has sprouted all over the garden...:o(
