Another Youth Up the Road

Another Youth Up the Road

And in the afternoon, this baby strolled through the trees by the road. This time of year the mother's are abandoning the youth, and they haven't learned much about survival, always stumbling through where they shouldn't be.

Thanks. It is a moose. :-) And definitely teenager, out stumbling in his ever longer legs. I do love having them close, till the garden is in......then its a battle to keep all my flower heads and vegetables.

What a sweet looking baby though! All legs & stumble, eh? Pity that they didn't have a gentler character to them, but they are still magnificent animals.

Thanks. These are so new to the world, they are much kinder. Still learning its legs rather than taking advantage of its size. I've run these off from my peas before. By summer end, they will have joined the cranky giants club. :-)

They are grand creatures Cristina, but very bad tempered as adults. And most gardens have an 8foot fence around them to keep these out. Yes, they also jump. An adult is between 8-10 foot tall and 300-400 pounds. They can be very scary but I try not to think about it.
