It's beautiful. I have put it on my favourites as a reminder to acquire it

Thanks. The camera doesn't do the colour justice, Pip, it's a deep maroon.

Well that does it. I seem to have a thread of that colour throught the garden so it will most definitely fit in :~))

I bought these 2 years ago Spritz but they never grew for me....Dont know where i went wrong....

beautiful

They don't take up too much room, either, as they go upwards from a smallish rosette of leaves.

Motinot - don't tell me that! I put these in to replace a very dead large Lavender...and I hope they don't go the same way! Sorry about yours, though.

He he - the posh Knautie macedonica! Perhaps these would stand up better for me - what do you think,Spritz?

23 May, 2010

Possibly - but if the lovely Knautia won't, you haven't been talking to them severely enough - so watch out if you plant this thistely thing. ;-(

I'll get tough tomorrow, Spritz - it'll be lolling even more in the heat, lol.

23 May, 2010

Oh dearie me..........water the poor thing!!!!!! It needs a 'stiff' drink...boom, boom. ;-D)

23 May, 2010

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, I'll try that in the morning - off to bed now! Night night.

Planted this two years ago and have not seen it since........

Oh no - a case for the 'Plant Detective'!!! That 'is' strange though - they don't have a reputation for being 'difficult' do they?

24 May, 2010

No have grown it in the past, could have got smothered!!!

24 May, 2010

I saw this at Chelsea last night - I had to chuckle, because I really didn't know they were 'fashionable', I just wanted something tall and maroon! lol.

25 May, 2010

LOL....

How is this plant doing in 2011, Spritz? I noticed that 'Pondlady' was asking if anyone had any seeds from this so decided to look and see who was growing it. It seems some GoYers have not had success with it.

What is your experience after a year of having it in the garden, please?

11 Jun, 2011

It's fine. :-) I added some more further along the top border this year, as I like 'repeat' planting if I can.

Thanks for the thumbs up for this one, Spritz....added to my wish list for the GC....goodness me it takes no time at all to have a list as long as my arm! lol

17 Jun, 2011

I know. It's difficult, isn't it. It's almost over for this year - I think you may have to wait until next spring now. :-(

17 Jun, 2011

Ok...will take your advice and look for this in spring...thank you, Spritz.

Either that, or order on-line.
