Sill me: it's a sunrise! It totally eclipses even the most colourful sunrises here in the Thames Valley, UK. The rest of the day must seem to be a bit of an anticlimax after sunrises like the ones in your pix.

Kowhai ... unfortunately I don't get to see sunsets at my place (hills and trees on the western side of my house) but the sunrises make up for it. We've had some stunners ... and we're finally seeing our usual stunning blue skies full of puffy white clouds after such a long rainy autumn.
