TY. This old part of town actually had many of these, and our siberian pea shrub of course.

Just trying to figure out if that is full log wall or half log siding, but I can't tell from the photos. We had a full log cabin just after we were married (many years ago...), with all but the den rewalled inside - I loved that beautifully walled den! We had left the logs just varnished and it was so warm & earthy looking! Sadly the marriage didn't last, but the cabin still stands and has been renovated quite a few times since, My aunt still lives two doors away from that old home, in a refurbished cottage with the half log siding.

This is full log Grammazoo, with the inside rewalled. Its an old cabin, not sure they went to the all of half siding the logs. You can look it up, its on front street Fairbanks Alaska, you can see the house number here. Listed for sale.

Lovely story about building your own cabin. Glad to hear that it still stands and someone inhabits it.

Oh sorry, Gt - we didn't build it , just bought it as a 'fixer upper' and redid it. It was a great first home though!
