Close up of our wild iris here. I got some shots today of them lining the streets and even found a meadow of them. WIll post. :-)

Beautiful Gt.....I'm pleased you've posted this....I took a photo of an Iris my boss has growing and can't remember the name of...it's very similar. Only about 2.5 inches across, with the same thin strappy leaves. I haven't heard of setosa before..........

Thanks for the comments. :-) It ranges in blue from almost white to a deeper purple. It is just the size you are describing Janey. A good clump here is between two and three feet tall. I added the latin name and linked it to GOYpedia, called the beachhead iris there. I'll get the pics loaded up. Resembles those blue bell fields I've seen posted over there.
