So I'm not the only one with out of date seeds. I can smell and taste that basil from here.

I did same, Amy, when I ran out of homegrown herbs for my stall at the school summer fete. Asda was cheapest at 69p. Bought several, split them and repotted in smaller clumps. Sold all, and no negative feedback - LOL!!
Have also used the supermarket "windowsill" herbs as a source for outdoor planting in former herb patches - and they all thrived.
I think that many of us will have "old" seed packs, Sg. it's a bit like not throwing away as there might be a use for this one day "syndrome". Have also got 6 lovely Coleus plants from a packet which expired in 2004.

I love Basil ...to eat I mean .! I have some growing , the ordinary green one .... last year I bought one of those super market packs of grown fresh herbs for cooking , then I split all the little plants up and re- potted them , it worked , I didn't think it would because they force them .and they're a bit tall and spindly .....
