I've noticed some on my new little mahonia too. I wonder what the chances are of growing new plants?

I don't know for sure, 6d. Mine never seem to get picked at or disappear, though.
A very interesting idea, Gee. If they could be germinated, the saplings would grow very quickly, wouldn't they?
Hope yours flower next winter/spring, Holly, and you get these "blue grapes".
