Thanks GT. I tried a few bits from shop bought seed this year although I didn't hold out much hope as I'm still only 11 months into this and was going toleave the seed thing for a year or two! However, I am really pleased with what I've achieved and also have some Cosmos Seashells coming along nicely.
Yes, seed is wonderful AND......I've save myself a fortune growing myself:o))

Stuning pic, Dan. must give you a great sense of achievement to get pics of something grown from seed yourself. You can deadhead as the flowers fade to roduce more blooms, and save the seeds from the last flowers to sow for next summer, to save money. :-))

Thanks David!
It is more than a sense of achievement....I'm sure you have a similar feeling when you create your gardens with your chidlings.....it's magical! Okay, I know I don't do owt as such but even so, it's so nice to see them flourish as you nurture from a tiny seed!
I had Marigolds last year and they do seem to reproduce a lot with the deadheading. I have a lot of blooms already so very happy. Only grew them to attract the slugs away from the veg patch but they seem so nice and perfect :o))

growing from seed never ceases to amaze me, even now, Dan. And, we always grow them for the same reason as you, lol! We always plant a cordon of Tagetes round our tomatoes and beans, to deter black/whitefly. But, of course, you are correct, slugs and snails like these, too.! :-)
