Willemia nobilis - Willemia Pine

I was very excited to see the Willemia Pine at Quail Botanical Gardens. I remember when it was first re-discovered growing in the Blue Mountains rainforest in 1994. It's a distant cousin of the Norfolk Island Pine (Araucaria heterophylla) which is very commonly grown here in California. Photo taken July 6, 2010.

It seems you missed on a great deal.
I've never seen this tree for sale here. Maybe in the near future this rare and beautiful tree may become available for sale.

These came on sale over here at £100 in garden centres near me .... i saw them being sold off last year for £30 and was sorely tempted to get one - i don't have the space though :-(((
I've not seen any for sale in a long time now and wonder if the garden centres over-bought, thinking more people would 'have to have' them, the prices stopped a lot of people from buying them.
Were they expensive to buy over there ?
