People think I'm mad, but I hate sweet corn! It's right up there with parsnips for me.
But they certainly have an architectural quality as a plant that I'd never noticed before. I may have to grow a few here and there next year.

Oh, you should, Meanie, they would look great among your wonderful, exotics. Even if we didn't get the corn cobs we'd grow some, because they look good.

They got a bit shredded by recent winds, Irish, but have recovered well. :-)

When we had the space we always grew sweetcorn but it's always best to grow about a dozen and space them into a block formation so that they get well fertilised to get the full cobs. They freeze well.

You're right, Linda, we used to grow it like this, too. Can only have 6 plants now, due to lack of space, and soil, but they are growing well in large pots, and can arrange in a 3x2 "block". :-)
