Little Calendula

I love these. So bright in colour too.

TY. They have been great to enjoy. A very nice addition. Unfortunately, they didn't keep going after a few flushes of bloom. After overgrowing in a little plug I think they just didn't have much more in them.

I have grown a few of these Greenthumb and I took the dead heads off. They haven't flowered in abundance.....just as I typed this the cat meowed pathetically from inside the wardrobe.....LOL I've just let her out!!! I shall try to save some seeds for next year and give them another go. We haven't had much rain so perhaps that's it. Did you see the meteor showers last night. It was cloudy here but I got out of bed about 1-30 and in a gap in the clouds managed to see one.

I did deadhead, but these first blooms were on a stem about 14 inches long, they were very overgrown. (LOL....cat in the wardrobe......LOL)

We still have no night sky up here, the first real darkness is just around the corner though. And with it low night temps. The wild rhubarbs are going woody and yellowing. Alas, the summer is coming to a close. Good thing I work outdoors caring for the nursery and perrenials now, more bang out of the warm weather.

Hey, seeing the brugmansia (angels trumpet) in your avatar, any suggestions for me. I've acquired one to live indoors under my grow light.

Forgot about your night and day light Greenthumb. We had another night of cloud so no hope of seeing anything heavenward. Brugmansias I grew in pots placing outside in the summer and wintertime they spent in the greenhouse at just over 50 degrees C. The sap can be an irritant to the skin so be careful how you handle. Fed them about every three to four weeks, but didn't let them sit in water they need to be watered but it's a balance of not enough or too much if you know what I mean. I used to cut mine down a bit after the summer and place the cuttings in pots to bring them on too. About half used to root. Hope this helps.

OO, thanks. :-) Will probably do well. When I looked into it I am just hoping that I have Brugmansia and not Datura, very very similar, but a blooming Datura can give you hallucinations and disturbing dreams. Not something I want living in the house. Npot blooms yet to tell me what it is. I'm excited to have it going, its doing well. I'll keep mindful of the sap.
