Thanks all. The bracts do look like paper, don't they? They don't have the texture of paper though ... they're quite soft to the touch and they are very small.

The photo makes the bracts appear large but these are shots taken close-up. In fact they're only around 1 1/2 cms long. The flowers are, of course, even smaller.

Right now my shrub is still quite young and hasn't yet reached it's mature height or spread. I'm looking forward to that time as it makes a spectacular display when the whole shrub is covered in these white bracts and flowers.

It's a great looking shrub when in full bloom, Shazzza, and quite a common plant here in my part of the world.
