Lobelia "Butterfly Blue"

Lobelia "Butterfly Blue" (Lobelia vedrariensis)

This is a new Lobelia that was bought this year to replace some of the stock that I lost over the winter. Very similar flowers to L.siphilitica, but the crowns take on a different shape to L.siph as the flowers form (much more rounded) and it's a happier plant in full sun.

Meanie:

Striking looking bright blue! How tall does it grow?

Delonix - it should hit a couple of foot by the end of it's flowering period. The Queen Victoria varieties can hit three foot pretty easily.
No good to you though as they "like their feet wet"!
Thank you Clematisa - I have a thing about the perennial Lobelias.

Meanie:

Thanks for the information! Yes, it probably wouldn't do well here...the soil is just too dry here for any plant that likes wet feet. I have a difficult enough time keeping my tropical plants alive which love a lot of water.
