Hi DD2, yes, I will be opening my garden on 21st & 22nd August and looking forward to it. I always get a lot of people asking about this and that, and we all exchange views, so it makes it very interesting indeed.
I do not belong to the NGS, because they donate a percentage of the takings to charity, as they have to have some for administration, whereas by doing it myself, 100% of the takings goes to our charity which is our local hospice. Last year, we collected and donated £3,400 to the Cransley Hospice.
Thank you for your concern DD2 ...... :-)

I think your creative flair has worked a charm on this section of your garden....is it still looking similar in 2011, Louis? I sure do think it's a feast for the eyes...and my eyes are saying 'beautiful.'
Good luck with your fundraising this year (I read elsewhere you are expecting to know next Wednesday if you will be holding your open day for the Hospice). I can imagine it is a huge boost to their operations at the Hospice with the money you raise. Well done :)

Thank you very much for your kind words Whistonlass. As for the circle of flowers looks the same, but I have something else going at the moment at the end of the garden, so I can have something different on the open day. I will post some pictures when it's completed .... :-)

I'll look forward to your new photos, Louis...pleased to know your circle of flowers is still going strong :)

Louis I do like the way you have used the timber here, are they sleepers? one of our GCs has a similar design with a seat which I would like to have a go at, dare not tell OH I want to get rid of the decking lol
25 Apr, 2012
Thank you Dotty, they are not sleepers, just new timber similar size as sleepers. I made this a few years ago and came 2nd in a national garden competition. I had to design and build a new project and so did this one. Go on, get rid of the decking...LOL!!!
25 Apr, 2012
I am working on him lol well done for coming 2nd in a competition the first design must have been something!!
27 Apr, 2012
Thank you Dotty. The first design was an old shack with wild flowers growing around it.
