Beautiful variegated foliage...it may need winter protection until it's established.

It was new last summer, and I double-fleeced it in the winter. It came through with no major damage!
Sadly, it got somewhat squashed when a large branch fell off the damson tree onto it. :-((
However, I've bought a new one, as I really like the foliage.

Hello Barbara, bought this plant this morning, and was looking to see who was growing it and how it was doing, and your name popped up, we seem to like the same plants, unusual foliage and evergreen, I am hoping you will say it is fine?

I can't say that, Dd. :-( It has lost leaves and looks unhappy, I'm afraid. I do love it though, and just hope it revives. You might need to fleece yours if this cold weather carries on.

It is not in the garden as yet, will stay under cover then go outside in late Spring, to give it a good start, I really should not keep buying tender plants....... will I ever learn? I hope yours survives B.....

I haven't learnt yet, either. :-( I suspect I'll have to prune it and see what happens.

We've just bought this & also Black Pearl - we had a different variety planted up until it succombed in the last winter tho had come thru the previous one. May be if I wrap them up over winters in the future they will survive, but it depends on the severity & length of the cold I imagine! How long have you had Magic Dragon?
