Looking very different to June when it was Oriental Poppies, Golden Showers and Alice Pritchard Clematis, amazing what a few weeks can make.

That Acer has given me an idea, off to Silica Lodge today to spend with my youngest and eat of course thanks for that Pansypotter, it's good to have someone else to blame for the spending lol. I will tell the husband it's your fault of course.

Bought a Choisya (if that is how you spell it) instead, white flowers - and some yellow/pale tangerine crocosomia to go in front of the tall red Lucifer just as a contrast and variation in height.

Superb border, I envy you. In my first year of planting up a field!!!! I cannot visualise ever getting anything to look so good as this.

So far I have dug out a circular vegetable garden that is very productive this year. Also have dug out two large island beds and a pergola measuring about 5 metres long and 2 metres high. I have planted two roses, honeysuckle, and clematis around it but obviously as this is the first year its pretty bare. The real problem is that this is first time I have had no clear physical boundaries so nothing to plant against and I am finding it very confusing. Thats why your border seems a wild dream away for me!
