Sorry to disappoint you but, although it looks a bit like a Fuchsia & its common name reflects this, Cape Fuchsia, it is in fact a different species of plant altogether!

Yes, it did look good but I think the display hasn't been as good this year as it was last year. It's in the same pot as last year but perhaps I ought to change the soil for next year.
I have a much bigger plant in an old waste bin which grows up to 1.5m by the time it flowers. The trouble is that it's not very nice to look at once the flowers are over & it doesn't produce any more either. :-( I may take it out & put it in the allotment. I really hate to throw away plants! It is underplanted with Hyacinths as well! These look lovely at a time when the Phygelius is dormant.

That's right Balc....Phygelius....mine too....they do resemble the more tubular flowered fuchsias don't they.........
