Yes it is Lincslass. It isn't huge as old buldings go and I didn't get to see the gardens on the day we visited. It was a nice, sunny day when we visited and there were a lot of families with picnics. The deer roam freely too...as do the kiddies..lol

What a stunning place! I wonder who does the outside preservation - it looks like a lot of woodwork involved or is it painted on the walls?
I'll see if I can find a photo of a nice old Elizabethan pile where Q E 1 actually slept once upon a time.

It is a NT property and yes, it is wood on the walls. Please note that I mis-named it....it should read Little Moreton Hall. Pleased you liked the photos, SL.

Great pics Whistonlass, makes up for the visit we never made. Went to Biddulph Grange, just up the road but because Congleton main road closed had to detour, got lost in country lanes, passed the back of this and by time we found Biddulph, no time to visit Little M.Hall. Still another time. Until then will enjoy your pics. Talking of deer roaming freely, must post pic of OH feeding them leaves at Burghley House..

Yes, it was a very manageable property for us to visit as I haven't got the stamina for walking around a huge property.
I was annoyed though as I saw a mom allowing her 2 young sons to chase the deer, despite the signs everywhere to stay clear of them. Now feeding them leaves in a calm manner....no problem. Yes, please, post your photo Tetrarch.
You'll have to make a trip to Little Moreton Hall sometime...and we'll have to get to Biddulph Grange too.

Gosh this takes me back at least 20yrs, we went for a visit lovely old place, but sadly our visit didnt end very well as someone broke into our car and stole my bag with purse and details, I never heard the last of it for weeks off my husband for leaving it on show! think I have a picture somewhere will try to dig it out for you!

Oh dear....there are lots of warnings now about DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR, ON VIEW...no help to you now though, PP. It's an awful feeling to have your car or home broken into and know somebody out there has a lot of information that they shouldn't have.
I reckon your hubby would be less vocal had he left his handbag on view...lol It does put a dampner on our memories; a picture would be fun.

Oooh! I've been there! Its so pretty and fun how its all wiggly and uneven inside... especially the long room at the top :)
