Its a proper old fashioned sunflower with a great big heart and small petals! Love it, just takes me right back to 1967!!

Ah well, it was the year I met my best friend Jillie. She was 3 and I was 4 and her Dad had a few sunflowers in his garden, at the top of his very large veg. patch. For a few years after that we would sneak in and bury the seeds for next year and he would gnash his teeth at us and growl!! happy days!!

lol great story, no worries then when a child,, children are fascinated by sunflowers arent they, maybe because so tall and so colourful ;o))

Lol Karen. Could just picture doing that to my Dad, He'd have gone beserk, although I remeber him visiting an Aunt and Uncle, and my Uncle was fanatical about the weeds in his flower beds. When my Dad was leaving, he put his hand up to wave, and had lettuce seeds in his hand, so as he waved he scattered the seeds. My Uncle couldn't understand why Dad was laughing so much, and I don't believe he ever found out about it Lol.
I had sunflowers Sand that I never planted and I've collected the seeds ready for winter for the birds. :o))
