Thanks everyone ... I came back last night after spending a week visiting our son and grandchildren in Blackburn , it was a nice surprise for me to see this in flower this morning ....

It has been pouring down with rain Gee my washing was wetter when I brought it in than it was when I put it out .. :o(

Thats odd ,I wonder what has made them all so late or not to flower at all ?

It isn't an Orchid 6p , but the scent is wonderful ... It's a corm Janey it isn't hardy so the corms must be lifted before the frosts and then replanted in the spring ... we grow them in pots and then put them in the greenhouse for the winter , it saves a lot of digging up and replanting .. :o)

Absolutely beautiful ... we commonly call them 'Peacock Orchids' here. The botanic name for them here is more likely to be Gladiolus callianthus rather than Acidnathera ... but whatever you call them, they are stunning!
