looks promising maureen, cant wait to see flowers ;o)) it says becomming extinct in the wild and quite a rare plant now, lovely in flower, just looked it up

I bought it earlier this year, so this is still all new to me, but I must be doing something right, and yes it is supposed to be becoming quite rare Sanbaz, so I hope it all goes well.

That's great you can get this plant to bloom!

It's a great accomplishment!

Hopefully you can get some seeds from this plant! I think this plant only lives for 5 - 9 years only. I know some of the larger, older plants at the San Diego Zoo are starting to decline now. However, they have at least a couple dozen though. :>)

Good example this plant of a misnomer. It is of course not a true Palm or indeed even closely related.

So many island endemics are under threat, Hawaii, Madagascar, Socotra, Galapagos and even the Canary Islands relatively near us have many endemics under threat.

I want to visit all of the above!
