Athyrium (japanese painted fern)

I so love these ferns.

I've not seen one of these before, its very unusual and pretty.

Thanks for the welcome, I came across this site by accident and I can't believe what a great idea it is. I am in my household the only gardener (well that's being optimistic!) so it's lovely to think I can communicate with like minded people!!! So much info on here! I also just wanted to say i love, love, love the colour of this fern!

Same here love this site, although can get quite addictive, I'm the only gardener in our house too, although OH does cut the grass and plans where the borders are going,and I plant them, although may be converting him as did catch him last summer watering my daylilies!!!!!,nearly fainted lol, everyones really friendly and helpful on here, look forward to seeing more pictures of your garden as it developes :-)

We grow this fern, it is one of my favourites, have been growing it for years now, also a lighter cream version which is just as pretty.

Ooo haven't seen the cream version DD bet thats pretty, do you have a picture?
