just lovely, its so hard to take photos of the moon ~ well i find it hard anyway ~ it seems to come out the size of a pin!

Thanks. I have a a hard time too. I am using a tripod so the image doesn't streak in my night setting. I get clearer shots if there is a cloud or tree that diffuses the light a little too.

ah, that explains it, i have never used a tripod, i only have a small camera [canon power shot G10] but i love it being so easy to carry about.
i think that alaskan moon is bigger than the english one!!!!?

Stickitoffee, I have a fujifilm Z20 point and shoot too, but there is a little hole to attach something in at the bottom and my little tripod was just a few dollars, fitting there. It fits in my pocket with the camera if required. Shots using the night setting need to remain still to get the clarity because it takes in the image for a period of time, rather than a shot. I'll bet your canon can use a tripod too. Its very effective to take landscape and distance shots at excellent resolution as well. :-)

thank you greenthumb, yes my camera will let me do that, we have one of those fun tripods that looks as if it is a childrens toy ~ gorilla pod or something ~ i will have to experiment with it ~ thanks for the encouragement
