Thanks Ladyg.....Blackie is one of my faves....my camera is a Panasonic Lumix.....it's great to use, though there's lots on it I haven't got to grips with yet!

thats one of those new cameras isnt it janey? i really like my camera but i dont know how to do all the things on it ~ panasonic usually are nice and straight forward ~ i would like to know how to do the light and timing but i cant understand it on mine

Yes, but I've had this one 2 years now Stoffee, and they've updated it since mine. There's so much to learn, Heron bless him sent me some lessons, which I've had a good look at. What type of camera do you have?

i have a canon powershot G10 ~ i like it cos its small but can still take most things ~ i can do the photos the easy way ~ just putting it on foliage setting [and macro] but i wonder if i would get better results if i learned how to adjust other bits on it.
i loved the angle you took this from ~ i couldnt find a way to take some of my fuchsias ~ nothing did them justice ~ but your photo does

Aw thanks Stickitoffee....:o)) Have you had a good read of your manual or are you like me and find it all mind-boggling...Lol! I faff around for ages and was lucky that Blackie is in a tub that I picked up and put on the table. I know what you mean about the light though, sometimes I use the shade cap which can make the colours much deeper, but with this pic, the sun was behind the flower, in the centre there, and lit up all the pink parts. I love taking pics with things back-lit and the beauty of our cameras is that you can take lots to get just one you're happy with....imagine if we had rolls of films to develop, it must have been so much more difficult then!

i couldnt agree more ~ one of the things i like doing best is to come home from work and just walk around the garden or the woods behind just taking a few pictures ~ most of them dont work but every now and then i get one i like.
i know what you mean about the back lighting ~ its great when that happens. im not sure about the shade cap ~ i dont think i have one
now you have found me out ~ no i havent studied the manuel ~ i guess that would be the most sensible thing to do!!
dont think i would have been taking photos if it involved all that developing!
happy snapping!

Beautiful pic Janey. One of my favourites too; I've taken cuttings, but - that reminds me - they're still in the cold greenhouse. Will bring them indoors tomorrow and apologise to them!
