It's been a strange year for them Meanie , we usually have lots of flowers but this year they have struggled to have one and so late to .... I have plants all over the garden they all grew to a good height but this is the only one with flowers ,perhaps it was a bad batch of seeds this year !
Janey I hope the Cornus seeds grow I've set mine as well , be ready for a long -long wait .. :o) BTW the latest report is that the seals are being harmed by boats and not a shark !!

Thanks Yorkshire .. :-)

Its worth waiting for Amy lovely! I expect it will do better next year for you, Are they biannuals as I had some which disappeared then came back the following year?

They're not hardy Carole , unless it's very mild .. maybe yours dropped some seed which came up the next year .... I'm not sure that I will bother another year if they don't always flower .. ;o(

So pleased yours flowered in the end......they can be difficult.

It must have been a very widespread bad batch then Amy! Sue usually has them grow up to the guttering; this year they barely made it to the top of the first floor windows and no flowers.

You could be right Meanie about the bad batch , mine have grown the height but not the flowers , my seed came from a company called Johnsons , Newmarket ,Suffolk £ 2.89 pkt.. I don't suppose you know where Sues came from ?

Johnsons come with the little plastic tag for when you sow them don't they? That's the ones we had. But we got no height either, so I'm pretty sure that the lousy summer was far more responsible than anything, although we had an unusually low rate of germination.

Yes they are the ones with the tag Meanie ! ....... Shall we try again next year ? .. I'm not sure !

I lifted mine today - if it doesn't make it undercover then I'll give it a shot next year.

I grew some of these last year, bought 2 packets of seed one the same as yours and the other creamy white, got 1 plant out of the whole lot a cream one, grew like a triffid in the sun room, but think we had some quite hot sunny weather last year, and it just wilted like mad as soon as the sun got on it, would have been better outside, didn't think much to the cream yours is much prettier Amy:-)

It's been so disappointing this year Kathy , mine grew like mad outside last year with loads of flowers , I haven't seen the white one ! I will be looking round for some different climbers for next year I think .. :o)
