wow - that is amazing. We have had a Musa Banana for 3 years and has not grown anything like this. It is in a pot which we bring during the colder months. do you think it would be worth planing out.

Different varieties grow reach different heights...there's a lot of dwarf varieties available for houseplants.

It just depends on the variety and how hardy it is. All my varieties bear good fruit.

We had a cold front with rain move in this weekend and the temps have cooled down considerably from the hot summer-time temps we had been getting most of this month. Today the high is only going to be 64F/18C. (BRRRR!) which is cooler than our normal high of 74F/23C.

I can't wait until it fruits also. My neighbor a few door down has a huge clump of Ice Cream bananas...and they always seem to be full of fruit.

We have Musa velutina in one of the great glasshouses at Kew, it's always popular with the public.

I used to have Musa velutina when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area...it's a hardy and very easy banana to grow outside. The tiny pink bananas are edible, however, the ants usually get to the fruit before anyone can eat them here in CA.
