Snow garden

Snow pics are all the rage this week. I've just spent a happy half hour snapping my snowy garden Brrrrrr!

Much as I dislike snow, Amy, it does give a completely different perspective to the trees which I love to see. Lovely photo. : o )

You have snow as well then Chris ! we will have to see the pics :o) .......
This is an area of the garden where the birds ,pigeons etc roost Shirley .. they have been spending more time in them in this weather , when we walk through here it disturbs them then they fly out making the snow fall in showers .... :o)

We have just had a 5 minute flurry of snow, blinked and almost missed it! Just going to walk round to Mums, we're having a Christmas card writing session this afternoon, last year Mum blithely carried on writing cards to people we'd already sent them to! Grrrr.......

LOL.. sorry Shirley , it's bad enough doing cards once never mind twice , I hope Mum hadn't put the stamps on as well !
Funny thing San , I thought about your fishies this morning , I hope they are alright , poor little things , it's amazing how anything survives out there . :o(
You will have to draw your curtains and try to blot it out Carol , I make a mental list in the summer of all the jobs that need doing in the winter when it comes i've forgotten what they were so they still don't get done .. lol......

Makes the garden look totally different Amy.....everything picked out in such detail.....we had a walk round Normanby this morning, it looks incredible in the snow....:o)

It does Janey , I know a lot of people don't like it but I do ,it's magical , more so since I don't have to rush off to work in it anymore .. ;o)
Thanks Lemondog , we are nice and cosy in here , the wood burner is stocked up and roaring up the chimney ;o)

It seems crazy Amy sitting at the computor looking at your wonderful garden covered in snow. We had a hard frost last night the bird baths and water barrels were all frozen solid this morning.I did some jumping about I can tell you making sure there was feed and water for the wild life.lol. Its now mid-day and I`ve had to partially close the curtains because the sun is so bright I can`t see the screen. Seems that the West Midlands is managing to miss all that white stuff.

It's a strange country isn't it stroller , it's like when you are driving along a road sometimes in perfect sunshine it suddenly goes dark and then pours with rain and then you drive out of the other side into sunshine again ... .. enjoy your sunshine while you can ! it's snowing again here with huge flakes .... the birds have been busy feeding all day getting ready for another icy cold night , poor little things ......

Your garden looks magical in the snow Amy, we have here today too, not a lot but I believe its forecast for this evening, just hope its not anything like last years. Just finished all my Christmas cards and written them too, ned to get the hoover out now as it looks like a grotto in here with all the glitter etc lol

Thanks Carole , all those tall trees at the back are Holly trees and are covered in berries so the birds will have plenty to keep them going for a while ... it's been snowing some more and it's forcast for tonight as well .. I remember how bad you had it last year , fingers crossed that you escape it this year ... you are way ahead of me with your cards , I can see you now with shining flecks on your nose and face from the glitter it's so difficult to get it off and shines in odd places for weeks .. :o)

Have you tried Ping Pong balls San , I think we had more success with them , also there's quite an air gap between the ice and the water that should keep them going for some time , don't bang the ice , the shock will kill them , put some hot water in a pan and gently lay it on the ice to make a nice round hole to let some air in occasionally ..... I hope they survive it ... :o(

thanx amy, yes iv been putting hot water in bean can and melting every other day to let air in, also oxygenating plants which must have plenty of oxygen in them before ice came, will check again in morning.
