A bit bad of me, that I never think to examine those trees more closely, to see what they are. They only ever "stand out" in the snow. Have made a mental note to do so. :-))

Looks like the scenery around here - conifers over the mountains to the front and rear of my bungalow, when they fell the conifers now they replant deciduous trees amongst them.

Wonder why they do this?? Our town park is on part of a very old, former, private estate, dating back to the 17thC. I should really try to find out about all the trees and shrubs here. Might be something to do over the winter?) :-))

Something to do with returning to native trees and reducing the acidity in the soil - so I was told.
It might only apply to the forests owned by the paper companies around here David :o)

Paper companies??? Amazing, Neellan, as we have 2 here, on the river which runs through our park. One of them is right at the western edge of the park, and the other just beyond the park's eastern edge. Something else for me to look into - Many Thanks, Bo'sun!!! :-))
