Found a wild patch back on the hill at the nursery before the snow came with the slanted afternoon sun. This is our wild strawberry, quick to turn once the cool begins to threaten.

Thank you Gee. That is what I was thinking. The natives seem to give some of the best color round here.

Love this colour, too, Gt.

The little fruit are just packed with flavour! I have wild strawberry as a ground cover plant...only problem is that it likes to migrate...it moves in a southerly direction from where ever you plant it...It likes south facing slopes and the fruit is a folk remedy for bowel complaints. They're as pretty as they are tasty! Great pic, Gt! Strawberry fields forever! lol..

Thank you David, Lori. :-) They are very sweet, just so very tiny. We've a cemetery on a south facing hill over town, just flowing with wild fragaria. A wonderful sight. :-)

Wonderful colour you managed to capture there, GT!
I got some Alpine Strawberry seeds this week thanks to Sheilabub who had lots of packets left over & offered them free to Goyers who were interested. I asked her for the strawberries & one plant called "White Lace".
I'll plant the strawberry seeds after the New Year festivities are out of the way.
