Poppies Cinders..a friend gave this colour to me..never did find out what it was called..pity cos its one of the nicest Ive ever grown. I thought it might be Oriental. Pap. Turkish Delight, but Im not too certain.

I love that little area with the paths and the archway! Thanks for reminding me. I've been outdoors today but now much happening. One or two hellebores have buds, just, and my winter irises are just beginning to peep up in the greenhouse. It's windy and raining now, so I've been forced back indoors again....brrrrr....come on spring, come soon, come early, please!

8 degrees, blue sky and sun here - i can hardly believe it!! is summer here.
1 Feb, 2011
That's lovely Tetra . . . very cheering!
1 Feb, 2011
Steady on now Sticki!! I'm hoping for more than 8 degrees in the summer time......I know, it's only a hope, but still!

Yup, blue skies and sun here.
Lovely photo.

Im going to pack so many plants in my garden this year girls, the slugs and snail wont be able to get in! Either that they will die from over eating!
Yes we have had a little rain and a nice bit of sun and it was 11 deg in the garden today. Sorry you missed out Karen, and it doesnt look to good for the north end this week either.
1 Feb, 2011
now that is an excellent plan tetra, funny cos i was planning to fill my garden more this year ~ thats the GoY influence and talking of influence ~ i could put beer traps around the garden to stop the slugs but would they be safe from the beer drinkers of GoY???

Just dont invite Yorkie is all!
1 Feb, 2011
very pretty and love your arch Tetra :o)

Blummin Eck Tetrarch! Rainin on my parade or what? lol ;) We had a lovely afternoon, blue sky and gentle breeze, not sure of the temps. didn't feel very summery though !!
1 Feb, 2011
Sorry Karen, but read that it was raining and windy and you "brrrrrr'd". I caught a glimpse of the weather forecast which mentioned snow down to the lower parts of Scotland..I really dont want to rain on you or snow on you for that matter! Could be it was for later this week and not today.
1 Feb, 2011
Thanks Sanbaz we bought the arch and arbour to match..but OH not so pleased he has to clean the roof of moss and bird muck every spring!
1 Feb, 2011
Ah, that's ok tetrarch. It was lovely first thing, then a bit rainy and windy and then lovely again! typical! but definitely brrrrrr!!
1 Feb, 2011
lol Tetra :o)
2 Feb, 2011
Thanks for the lovely inspiration, Tetra. We're getting a major dumping of snow at present and this picture has helped my attitude immensely.
2 Feb, 2011
Be patient Lori, spring creeps up on you..then..all of a sudden..ITS THERE..
2 Feb, 2011
Can't wait!! ;o)
2 Feb, 2011
Me neither Tog, getting really itchy now, wanting things to grow in inches not tiny millimetres! Even my daffs are a bit reluctant, so perhaps there's a bit more cold to come..hope not!
2 Feb, 2011
Ahww, poor Lori, more snow!
2 Feb, 2011
Hi Val, how did you manage during the big freeze, did your lovely cats find some extra warm places to curl up in?
2 Feb, 2011
Love your garden Tet...it looks like a piece of heaven. I'm wondering if the Oriental Poppy is Victoria Louise, mine is very like this. Those paths of your are just what I could do with in mine...more pics please....:o))
3 Feb, 2011
No Janey, I have that one..its more peachy than my un named one..this one is exactly the same colour as the lily flowered tulip China Pink..
We are revamping the centre circle, putting in a gazebo, so will post some before and after pics come March and then when things have grown more in the late summer. I must admit I miss my conifers from the middle, by OH said they got to big (which they had really) and spoiled the view. Hey ho! we will see "post gazebo"!
3 Feb, 2011
it's hard to imagine a redux of this lovely garden...
4 Feb, 2011
Oh no Lori, not gonna touch this bit, well maybe a few new plants...but JUST on the left you can see a bit of the conifer..it was about 14ft and still going strong, together with another, one elwoodii and the other christmas tree shape..same height..well OH wanted to chop them..and its both our garden..sooo..down they came!
4 Feb, 2011
Roll on those lazy ,hazy , golden days of summer ! thanks for the reminder Tet can't wait for it now :o)
13 Feb, 2011
Hya Tet, sorry only just picked this up, my cats are coming out of hibernation, when it was really cold all they did was sleep! Don't blame them tho' !
As the weather is slowly improving they are spending more time outside....... like us !
13 Feb, 2011
I wish they would have a word with my neighbour's cat Val, she spends most of the day trying to catch birds and most of the night leaving parcels and a load of soil over the paths! Yours look so refined, Im sure they dont do things like that!
Time to brush up that lovely new courtyard girl!!
13 Feb, 2011
Oh no Tet, mine are much more refined, you see they are basically indoor cats and consequently have their own hooded litter trays (all posh)lol
My back garden has wire around the top of the fences so my cats can't get out and other moggies can't get in!
Ta da,..... good eh?
13 Feb, 2011
Brilliant lol! Dont suppose you take em for walkies on leads Val? Ive seen people doing that!!
14 Feb, 2011
Thanks for the welcome Tetrarch, I love your garden just how I like a garden to look romantic and cottage style. I would love to have just that little bit more room. My garden is a strange shape starts of at 16ft then widens to about 25ft then goes thin to a point. From the cottage to the point it is about 40ft. The size of your garden would just suit me to a tee, not to big to take up all your time but big enough to wander through. lovely!!!!!!!!:)
17 Feb, 2011
i once saw a woman taking 2 ferrets out for a walk on a lead ~ they were blonde coloured ~ she was blonde too ~ i couldnt help giggling ~ it just struck me as funny.
17 Feb, 2011
Sure that wasnt Lulu in a wig?? I can just see her doing something that outrageous lol!!
Teds thank you for the compliment, but if you want to see a tiny garden that looks huge try Fossy's page..he's off in the south of France at present, its a fabulous garden!
17 Feb, 2011
Yup, Tet, they do go out for walks in their pink harnesses and leads. :0)) >^-^<
17 Feb, 2011
Oh Val, you do disappoint me! I made sure the harness would be 9ct gold encrusted with semi precious gems for such wonderful pusskins as you have lol!
17 Feb, 2011
Teds, that should have been MOSSY'S page, sorry for the typo.
17 Feb, 2011
i did wonder who fossy was ~ thought i was some wonderful garden that i had missed.
mossy's garden is really lovely.
18 Feb, 2011
Lovely pic......
24 Feb, 2011
I just realised when I took this OH had been weeding and he left the plastic bag on the path! Thanks DD but I cant compete with yours! Maybe a little if the gazebo looks good in couple years.
24 Feb, 2011
Hey now, of course you can.......
1 Mar, 2011
Do you find your garden is a bit like decorating a room...you can see all the faults and everyone else thinks its great! Tho I have a very eagle eyed friend who notices EVERYthing thats not quite right..I tell her sometimes, fine friend you are lol!
1 Mar, 2011
Only the best of friends would take the time to notice everything, Tet. be patient...until you go to see her garden!! lol....
7 Mar, 2011
