Thanks, all - it's under a Cistus shrub, so I suppose it is sheltered. Have you ever looked at any websites with Hepaticas? They are WELL out of my price range! :-O

When you look at a flower close up, it makes a much bigger impression, doesn't it. I'm sure my neighbours must think I'm mad - I'm always peering into flowers! lol.
