Thank you all. I cant wait for my Banksia rose and the clematis to start growing up..will make it look a little more solid with some colour there..I just hope the Banksia doesnt swamp everything..will have to cut it back if so..and perhaps I can get some cuttings to grow on.

Stunning design.....love it.

Thanks DD, that's praise coming from a world renowned garden like yours. Did you hear any more from the Japanese?
I actually name-dropped you the other day...

Lovely design and planting Tetra. Hope the banksia rose gets better with age, I was a bit disappointed in the two little trusses of flowers that mine threw up this year (Its first year) hope for better things next year.

I had quite a lot on mine Stroller. Bought it late last year so only one year for me. Mind you I dont know how old it was when I bought it..fair size root system on it.

Tet yes we did hear from the Japanese they sent us two DVDs of the gardens, one taken of our garden only (because they only used a small clip of us in the end, me throwing my arms in the air and shouting we....ehhhhhh !!) at the last minute they found a garden who was applying to enter the Yellow book so they took all our footage off....... so that why why we had our own film, the other film was of all the work done by the NGS and the other gardens aroung the country.

Oh what a shame, still its nice to have your own film of the garden, especially after last winter!!
I missed your first open day DD, when is the next one please?
31 May, 2011

Beautiful design.

Thanks Scotsgran, Dwyllis - I have had to order a plinth for the statue as the plants are growing taller and its hard to see her now! The Banksia rose and the Clematis Serratifolia are really taking off..particularly the clem, its a mass of dainty yellow bells at present and almost reaches the top of the gazebo!
