This was another Geranium bred by Elworthy Cottage Nursery - I have to thank Dottydaisy for telling me about it, so I could get it.

The camera has lied again - it's more purple, K.

I found it very difficult to photograph....have put it in the border where I can keep an eye on it!!

Good'un, isn't it! I'm grateful to Dottydaisy who spotted it first - now we both have one! :-))))))

Lovely....

Every time I walk past it, it catches my eye. I think it's a real little beauty. :-))

Prettty, I'll have to look for this one. I'm always looking for more of the small Geraniums :-)

I gather that there are only two Nurseries who stock this plant at the moment - they bred it, so it's not generally found elsewhere.

Yeah, and they don't do mail order. oh well, that's life!
15 May, 2011
I reckon they'll 'go public' with it once they've propagated enough.

Makes sense. Added it to my favorites, won't forget it this way :-)

Gorgeous - added to my favourites, and on my Wish List. If it seeds itself, Spritz, you'll have plenty of customers on here . . . I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh!!

I've just checked in my book - the nodosums don't come true from seed. What a shame! I suppose they'll have to take root cuttings. :-/

That sounds a useful book, Spritz. Is it one of those massive reference books that you can hardly lift?!
17 May, 2011
Not at all. I have three Geranium books - one is the RHS Wisley handbook, then I have one called 'Hardy Geraniums' by Trevor Bath and Joy Jones, who are experts, and my favourite is 'Gardening with Hardy Geraniums' by Birgitte Husted Bendtsen. That's the one I turn to for advice on propagation, heights, aspects etc. plus lovely photos of the flowers/leaves/cultivars and Geraniums with other plants. I could sit and read it like a novel! :-)))

Thank you . . . I love reading gardening books, esp Christopher Lloyd, and Anna Pavord's "Border Book" (found for £4 secondhand!) . . . your Bendtsen sounds great. I was once asked by an acquaintance who wanted to identify a plant "do you have a gardening book?" I said "I've got 42"!

These books sound interesting Spritz. I'm getting quite interested in hardy Geraniums, I'll check them up on amazon, I'm going to order some new books soon, so might as well through in one or two gardening books! Books are my other big addction btw ;-)

Too true! I love Salvias, so I've got one on them, and Lavenders, and of course the RHS books - and Beth Chatto's books, plus naturally Christopher Lloyd and so on. ;-) My bookcase isn't big enough for them all, they've overflowed into the living room.
I got my books on Amazon, it was far cheaper.:-)

Yeah, our book cases are spilling over ;-) The Geranium books looks good, got them saved on my with list on Amazon for now.I get all my books from them, much cheaper, both gardening and fiction (well, sci-fi and fantasy really!)
