I bought this 4 years ago from Carol Klein at the Chelsea Flower Show, and always look forward to it flowering.

Wow...huge! It looks like something you'd buy in a confectionary....raspberries with cream

:-O Carol Klien! One of my favourite / even my favourite gardening presenter. Always shows enthusiasm and cheerful when presenting. Maybe it would be worth visiting Chelsea to meet Carol Klien, crowds of people scare me off though lol :-)

Thanks, Mike! I hope that rosa "4th July is available here, still to search. I love it! Lori, you hit the nail on the head with "raspberries and cream". I'm such a foodie (more on this in a mo.) Thanx, Grammazoo and Irish, I love this, too. Jacque, am afraid to tell you that this poppy is sterile, and doesn't set seed - you have to take root cuttings! Mark, I've been put off thse shows for a few years coz of the crowds, too. But, itt's a great deal to do with timing. Go during the major lunch period, or broadcasting sessions, and you'll get time to look and ask. Now, I'm at Chelsea 2004 (seems like yesterday). I see Carol Klein's nursery display, full of Pernod-shaded flowers mixed in with feathery green foliage and cream-to-white lacy flowers. My favourite combo! Dark and light - like chocolate, or Victorian era mourning, dark brocade velvet curtains with a showing of cream/white lace (the hypocrisies of those Victorians). As a sales asistant beckons Carol, she is in mid-interview with a female American interviewer aboutn the display. "Ask this gentleman", says Carol, and I said just a few words - "Victoriian political correctness v.social pretence, with a hint of chocolate", I said, and I got my poppy, with root-cutting instruction from Carol, who gave me a sly wink! And I still stand by that!
