excellent - lupins are brill - lovely colours

don't they look just beautiful

I love lupins...couldn't grow them in my old house...bought some 'cheap' ones 2 years ago at B&Q and they are thriving...I hope I have found the ideal spot for them 'cos I intend to fill the whole edge of my front garden with them.

Didn't know they were fussy plants. But glad you're having success with them now, Scottish. They definitely don't like shifted, as I found out, until they settle a few days later. Lovely pink, homebird. Have you observed the bees trying to push the little petals apart, before they've properly opened? It fascinates me...

Being the 'beginner' I don't know what to do but if you can tell me how to take seeds I will do this for you and send them on...do the seeds come out like the parent plant? (See I have learned something since joining this site!!!!) Alternatively, they were bought at B&Q in a tray of 6 for around £5 very early in the season last year when they were just little plants, I think they do them every year as I bought other ones this year for £1.49 each or 4 for £5.

You're welcome Homebird. I never thought they were fussy either 1poodle11 but they just never looked health no matter what I did and after a few weeks they always died, maybe it was something in the soil???

Love the Lupins against the backdrop trellis..I don't have much luck with Lupins in this garden, but will keep on trying..
