This border was bare and has filled out in about fourteen weeks, I am really pleased with its progress.

I wish Sticki I had my time all over again and I would fill this garden to bursting, but even a full garden needs attention doesnt it?

How sweet of you, thanks Pixi, this is a brand new border this year as we had it dug completely out so I am so pleased with the results this summer. :~)

23 Jun, 2011

26 Jun, 2011

We have just got rid of our two compost bins today and our old shed, I put them on Freecycle and they were collected in record time!! It looks so much tidier now.

26 Jun, 2011

Yes they come in handy but can make the place look untidy if you have nt got any where to hide them, just shows just by removing a few things how different things look. I gave mine to my son and the water but for the allotment.

Oh Wow, Gmadge....it looks fab. I am amazed at how quickly it has filled out. My borders look very depleted in comparison although I have not had my borders in as long as yours. You've chosen well with your planting.

I've been out today and bought a few more plants so I'll be putting those in the borders/rockery tomorrow (and weeding!!...the little blighters are beginning to make an appearance).

Thanks for directing me to this photo as I had not come across it...still trying to play catch up on blogs/photos. I think it will be the dead of winter before I manage it! lol

Good luck with your future garden plans too :)

Hi W.lass, glad you found the photo and thanks for the compliment, why I took this pic. was because it was a completely bare border but I had plants from the old one to transplant and then i have been buying new ones whenever I felt like it, I am still adding new now and I find it better that way to find a plant actually in flower at the GC you can then see what it looks like! I am delighted that the border no longer looks 'new' because it is filling up fast and as you say so are the bloomin weeds! Keeps us busy though,Lol ! I have sprinkled some seeds of poppy here and there and I have also found new plants growing to my suprise, things that i thought were gone but No, the seeds must have been dug in when the work began and now I have found lost plants, wonderful!
I know what it is like to play 'catch up' with photos etc, sometimes I can only read blogs and then I look at photos and dont comment so that cuts down the work, I just hope everyone understands the reason why, as you say it will be January before we catch up, Lol.
Our work is still in progress at the mo, and we have got rid of our old shed and the greenhouse is going and then we will have a new shed, no rest for the wicked as they say!!! So take heart now, your garden will grow! x

Thanks Karen, how sweet of you, it is looking even lovlier now as this nice sweet rain has made everything grow at speed, weeds included! Now the garden is looking so tidy and neat I enjoy it much more, I have found verbena, love in the mist, poppies, columbines, sun flowers etc,of which I thought would never grow at one time! Also I have been putting things onto 'freecycle' and folks have been collecting all my rubbish! Great fun. :~)
