Love This Achillea

Lovely border, pretty colours

Thanks Annella, it looks nice on this pic, but I need to move the achillea really. Maybe I can split it this year as it seems to have grown well and I wouldn't mind another one:-)

Is it an orange one? your garden looks lovely I also live the Wallflowers too. I have one which Janette sent me last year and it has really spread just starting to bud now;0)

I love Achilleas too,Ba..I saw this colour today at the GC..its a lovely soft shade..:o) I see you have got yours growing through a plant ring too,like me..and I still have to put a strong cane behind it,as it gets so tall..but I wouldn't be without it..I split mine into three,in the spring..all doing well.:o)

I put three achilleas in my garden last year, they have gone mad, i have split them and put them towards the back of the border now! lovely pic :^)

Hi Pp, i bought the wallflowers from a stall in Walsall market, I love the variegated leaves and they have flowered nonstop for ages. Also bought Bowles mauve and that's still in flower too. The achillea is a soft apricotty orangey erm.......lovely colour lol:-)

\0/ yoohoo Bloomer, it was quite small last year, and as I had just been madeover, I was shoving everything in anywhere by the end. Still three more is fine with me...does it have to be spring?:-)

\o/ yoohoo to you too,Ba..I don't think it has to be,but would imagine its the best time,when they are ready to start into growth again..or maybe Autumn would be ok too ? I'm sure someone knowledgeable will confirm..:o)

Hi Daylily, thanks. When did you split yours? Mine , as you see, are right near the front and behind them are some smaller roses and alstroemeria which can be seen depending on angle as this is a small bankish border if you see what I mean. I was tempted the other day to give them a good watering and dig out (just half in case)and plant in spaces further back....but resisted as I do love them. Patience is a virtue I'm developing quickly:-)

Hi Bornagain, actually slightly misworded that, soz, i lifted them as they were all bunched together at the front cos didnt realise they would be so tall, (i had some echinacea behind which i thought would be taller), and just moved them to the back as they were taking over a bit, i had four so i put the two largest at the back and got one out all together and gave one to my mom-in-law, did this a couple of weeks ago. I'll post a pic when they are more in flower, just starting now :^)

I've got an echinacea behind mine too, can't remember its name at the moment, but lovely colour. In fact most things are behind mine lol:-)

Look lovely Ba...yes love the tawny colour of your Achillea, they do make a nice show don't they, treated myself to Cloth of Gold in the Spring, hoping it'll spread like yours in a year or two.

This was tiny last year Janey so foolishly left it where it was. I had cloth of gold years ago...lovely, but it was on quite heavy soil in a wet winter so I lost it. They really are value for money plants aren't they:-)
