Daylily (Hemerocallis)

Don't know which variety as given to me 13 years ago by my dad, but its never had a polytepal (extra petals and sepals) flower before, looks like two flowers joined together.

Did you try to cross it with anything? I would have been out there trying to duplicate it on everything it sight. But I just won an auction for 50+ seeds of crosses that were poly to poly. The seller's cat jumped up and knocked over all his seed trays and he put over 400 of these poly crosses up for sale. In the description he says that he gets only 1 plant out of 100 that are polys. I'm spending this fall getting my beds ready for the new plants.

No Wylie, this was supposed to be the year for me to have a go at a few of my own crosses but yet again I never got round to it, next years the year, lol.
You lucky thing, I really must check out the lily auction site again haven't been on in a while, yes you'll need lots of space for all the seedlings, I rented 1/2 an allotment to grow mine on, but seen as how I don't have any yet, except a few seedlings I bought of ebay, its full of all my divisions that I must get round to listing myself, not very organised :-).

Let me know if you do list them on ebay, and if you ship to all of Europe, or at least Portugal :) I have been buying from a place in Germany, and it takes 3 -7 days transit time, which is pretty good. I was thinking of importing some from the US, but then I read Portugese customs requirements, and it just isn't worth the extra cost. I looked at polliesdaylilies website, but she is strictly UK.

Yes the costs to ship from the US are ridiculous aren't they I looked into it once, all the phytosanitary checks, suppose its alright if there are a few people buying together, but you'd need to buy a lot to make it worthwhile.
I usually only sell within the UK too Wylie but suppose just once I could see how they go sending to Portugal, its mainly my older varieties I sell though,so don't know if you'd be interested, the newer spiders and ufo's aren't ready for splitting yet, usually sell on buy it now 5 for £10 plus postage, which is normally around £5.25 in the UK.
If you'd like to see which I have I could send you a list, I'm not sure what postage to Portugal would be though.
